Abstract

This spit carrier avoids the uneven cooking associated with barbecued food. Individual spits are unstable and cook only one side unless constantly attended. This design avoids this and can be used for small barbecues or by large catering establishments. The carrier consists of two strips of fire resistant material. Between them is a row of several spits, fixed securely and held tight by wing nuts. A handle is attached to one of the two strips. In use, the spit carrier is placed over the fire, the food cooked on one side and the carrier turned 180 deg. to cook the remaining side.
