Abstract

A blower under the floor of the box introduces hot air and a water supply with a heater provides the steam. The shoe uppers are placed on grills with devices for shaping the heels and possibly also the toes. There are separate grilles for the right and left shoes. The shoes are placed on the grilles outside the box and then are pushed through a curtain. A deflector plate hinged at the far end of the box is lifted up by the steam and hot air rushing through nozzles in the floor to deflect steam over the top of the shoes.
