Abstract

Vinyl copolymers, partic. those contg. different mole ratios of 2 monomers, are prepd in an org. solvent or a mixt of org. solvents which dissolves the monomers but precipitates the copolymer formed. In prior art azeotropic copolymers of styrene and acrylonitrile, (AN) for example, contain is approx. 39% AN. In the present process the AN content may vary from 36-60% depending on the nature of the solvent(s) and concn of the monomers.
