Abstract

The float sections, made from plastic material and filled with plastic foam, are bolted together with a through bolt to form a float of any suitable length. The sections are keyed together to prevent rotation. Nose and tail sections protect the ends of the completed float. Midway along each section is an annulus which holds 4 nuts, spaced at 90 deg., and having alternately left and right hand threads. The sections can be bolted together laterally by means of bottlescrews fitting the appropriate nuts in the annular ring.
