Abstract

As the primary pointer rotates along the scale, a pin attached at right angles to it pushes along two secondary pointers. The secondary pointers have cutouts into which the pin locates, arranged so that one secondary pointer may be pushed clockwise and the other anticlockwise, thus indicating max. and min. of the variable over the desired period. The reset button is spring loaded so that it does not hinder the movement of the primary pointer, and the pointer hubs are separated by a lubricant such as silicone grease.
