Abstract

Bar passes through central hole in a block and an outer ring. This ring has eccentric slots imparting radial movement to three jaws under the action of cylinder. When a bar pusher reaches end of its stroke, a cam operates a valve through two microswitches along the pusher. The three jaws open and the pusher completes its stroke. Upon retraction, the cam reactivates the cylinder and closes the jaws ready for next bar. The invention particularly relates to bars rotating at high speed.
