Abstract
The stainless steel sintered metal elements are formed into inclined conical surfaces welded together end to end with a free passage up the centre. The surface is coated with tetracosan (C24H5o) which aids the release of sodium liquid droplets. The whole is held inside a vessel at 110-120 degrees C, the gas, laden with sodium mist, flowing from outside to inside the element. Liquid sodium collects at the base and is returned to a holder.
