Abstract

Cell comproses a zinc cathode can and a central graphite rod surrounded first by a depolariser based on MnO2 then by a polymeric membrane suitable for retarding Zn2+ membranes. The electrolyte is a soln. of >=1 amine salt, pref. the chlorhydrate of ethylene diamine or of pyridine. The cell exhibits less Zn diamine formation around the anode.
