Abstract
The equipment contains a liquid crystals system with nematic structure contg. as additive., at least one of the following cpds.: R.COOCH2CH2.R3N+X-, (RO)3P, (R5O)3PO or R52HPO4 (in which R is 10-24C alkyl; R1 and R2 are H and/or COR; R3 is Me or Et; R4 is PhCH2 or Et; R5 is 4-24C alkyl; X- is a monovalent anion). The use of additives of this type ensures complete freedom from cloudiness. The nematic liquid crystals pref. consist of a 1:1:1 mixt. by wt of p-anisylideno-p-n-heptyl-, p-ethoxybenzylideno-p-n-butyl-and p-n-propoxybenzylideno-p-n-pentyl-anilines.
