Abstract

A lubricant forms, at above the sepn. temp. of 0-100, pref. 20-80 degrees C, a homogeneous liq. with kinematic viscosity at 100 degrees C, of 6-23, pref. 9-20, cSt and with negligible vapour press. at =150 degrees C, at the sepn. temp. the compsn. separates into two phases, the denser phase being a liq. with viscosity 100, pref. 50 poises at -18 degrees C, and forming 10-35 vol % of the compsn. at temps. below the sepn. temp. Lubrication is satisfactory over a wide temp. range.
