Abstract

The white charge is prepared by mixing molten metallurgical slag with mineral additives to produce a vitreous mass which is heated at 1560-1580 degrees C, foaming being effected simultaneously with the oxidising process using a fuel beam. The vitreous mass is granulated after its viscosity reaches 60-90 Po. finally the granules are heat treated at 1050-1080 degrees C for >=30 mins. Process enables metallurgical waste to be used in place of glass producing raw materials.
