Abstract

Papermaker dryer has spaced heated drying cylinders, which establish a tortuous path for a paper strip carried between them. Belt pulleys on the corresp. cylinders are used to drive these with an endless transmission belt positively wrapped round at least some of the belt pulleys, with a drive provided for the transmission. The dia. of the belt pulleys is stepped so that a pre-determined relationship to the peripheral velocities of the cylinders is achieved.
