Abstract

Two mandrels are mounted adjacent axially, each of dia. about equal to the inner diameter of the tyre. The one mandrel consists of a series of rollers set in a circle and both rotates as well as moving axially. The tyre is fixed next to this device which has staggered rows of knives which then cut into the bead spirally. The mandrel moves through the central hole of the tyre, followed by the other mandrel which has a wedge to remove the bead core.
