Abstract

A plastic article (e.g. a book cover, folder, folding container cover, display support etc.) comprises two plates of pref. rigid thermoplastic (e.g. polyvinyl chloride which may be laminated with aluminium) sheet connected together by an articulated joint comprising a flexible plastic (e.g. polyvinyl chloride) tape which extends between adjacent edges of the plates and which is welded (e.g. by high frequency) to the edges of the plates along parallel lines. The article is cheap to produce and hard wearing.
