Abstract

The purifcn. station operates on the activated sludge principle: it includes an oxidn. tank, through which compressed air is bubbled, a settlement tank and opt. a stabilisation tank, for storage of the sludge. The station can be extended, according to the nature of the effluents, to obtain the optimum value for the output/BOD ration, by increasing the vol. of the tanks by the addn. of standard modules; each has its own accessories for introducing the H2O to be treated and for evacuatg. after treatment of the sludges and the floating bodies. Any necessary extensions can be made by bolting together with the flanges, with sealing joints, of added or inserted modules and supplementary stays can be provided externally for each modules. Various materials, esp. sheet steel, plastics or concrete, are used; sections can be added in series or in parallel, in all possible combinations.
