Abstract

Cryogenic techniques are used for the large-scale recycling of high polymer waste, esp. old tyres and cables insulated with rubber or plastics, of different sizes. The materials are disintegrated and reduced to a temp. at which they become brittle with the help of liq. N2 or other refrigerants to be then passed through a series of hammer mills and brought down to the reqd. granular size for sepn. into their various constits.
