Abstract

Polybutene-1 articles are bonded together with a heated, molten mass of a partly crystalline homo-, co- or terpolymer of butene-1 with an RSV-value of 0.5-4.0 dl./g., and 35-70 wt.% of an ether soluble component. Efficient bonding of polybutene-1 articles, including large articles such as tubes with a large diameter. Easier and cheaper than welding. The molten mass contains a co- or terpolymer contng. 1-25 wt.% ethylene, propylene, pentene-1 or hexene-1. The articles and the articles coated with the mass are treated with a flame before bonding.
