Warp knitting machine of known kind in which web displacement during suspension on hooks of a web feeding device is prevented is provided opposite the hooks of the reciprocated feeding device with a web stretching device formed by a pair of convergent plates forming a nip adjacent the hooks and co-operating with a pair of alternately operative clamping devices.
