Sulphate esters of cyclododecyl polyethyleneglycol ethers, pref. contg., on av., 3-8 -CH2CH2O- units, and of cyclododecyl polypropyleneglycol polyethyleneglycol ethers, pref. contg., on av., 3-8 -CH2CHMeO- and -CH2CH2O- units, and partic. more -CH2CH2O- than -CH2CHMeO- units, and their salts, pref. the alkali- or alkaline earth metal-, NH4 or organic amine salts, are useful as tensides in liquid washing- and cleaning agents, e.g. for dishes and textiles, shampoos, carpets and upholstery. Compsns. have high cleaning power with low foaming tendency suitable for use in dish-washing machines.
