Title cpds are of formula: R.O2C.S. H.CN where R is pyridyl opt. substd 1-4 alkyl, alkoxy, halogen, alkylthio, NO2; R' is H, alkyl (C, -C4). The cpds are insecticides and fungicides which are less volatile and have a longer duration of action than known analogues. Prepd by reaction of haloalkanonitriles with alkali metal O-alkylthiocarbonates.
