Abstract

The head had an interchangeable plate for sealing the bottom of the ingot mould, and >=1 detachable anchoring piece projecting above the plate. The plate has an opening or hollow into which fits a projecting portion of the head which is flush with the upper surface of the plate, and the anchoring piece(s) are fixed to this projecting portion. This simplifies dismounting of the anchoring pieces through the sealing plate, after casting.
