Abstract

Apparatus for the polyfusion welding of thermoplastic, particularly polybutene, polyethylene, polypropylene or the like, tubes, having hinged tube-clamping rings for gripping the two pieces of tube to be welded together, the surfaces to be welded of which have been heated by means of heating devices previously swung in between the tubes and swung out again after heating, incorporating a heating element which can be plugged into the apparatus and heated up and can be used for any of these welding processes without special ancillary equipment. The apparatus can be used for butt welding, sleeve welding or manual welding.
