Abstract

Fabrics, esp. polyamide or polester knitted fabrics, are finished to retain their original soft feel and render them antistatic. The fabrics are irradiated with ionising radiation, esp. on electron beam, and impregnated with monomers and finally after a predetermined time rinsed with a suitable solvent. Impregnation may be carried out before, during or after irradiation.
