Abstract

Regenerated cellulose films, plasticized with polyethylene glycol of mean m.w. between 285 and 4000, pref. 300, is coated with a mixture of wax, pref. paraffin wax, Sunoco-5512 (RTM), of m.pt. of >=68 degrees C, and a fatty acid amide, pref. erucic acid amide to facilitate the mixing of the wax. The films are dimensionally very stable, and do not adhere to each other on contact; they can be sealed by solvents. Used as packaging film for, such as wrappings for cigarettes and food.
