Abstract

The textile tape is woven and is in two strip-like section which can be separated longitudinally. Pref. the two sections are woven one above the other and have locked edges, and one pair of adjacent edges of these are connected together by a tying yarn extending parallel with the warp. Removal of a part of tying yarn allows the tape to be separated over a predetermined length. The tape may form the shoulder strap, of an under garment, (e.g. brassiere). In the shoulder strap region the sections are secured together which in the other regions the sections are separated and secured along the upper edge of the garment to form an edging. Pref. the tape is formed on a warp knitting machine and has warp yarns and trying yarn of elasticated yarn which may be gimped. The tape is easily attached to a garment.
