Abstract

In the installation, the lower of the two roll assemblies has a rigid chassis fixed to a frame or foundations and the upper has a chassis supporting by the first chassis to which it is rigidly fixed and which carries the ingot mould and its guide elements. The lower roll assembly chassis has a horizontal support surface on which the upper roll assembly chassis is fixed, and the two chassis are connected by rapidly dismountable fixing devices e.g., pins and keys.
