Plastic compsns which include >=1 cpds. contg. Cl, also include sufficient filler able to react with the noxious gases, (esp. HCl) given off during burning, to form neutral prodts. or those with little activity. The filler is chosen from Na2CO3, CaCO3, NgCO3, dolomite, or freshly-pptd oxides of Fe, Zn, Mg or Al. The filler in a divided form is incorporated in the plastic compsn. while it is in the paste or liquid state. The cost of the filler is low, and reduces the cost of the plastic compsn.
