Abstract

Antibodies developed and isolated from the blood of animals into whom human cancer cells have been injected exhibit a carcinostatic effect when injected into human patients. Prepd. by a two-stage injection of animals esp. pigs (a) with caner-cells contg. an absorption-retarding agent and, after 2-3 weeks (b) with the same cells without the adjuvant. The antibodies are isolated (a) by chemical pptn. of the gamma-fraction, (b) sepn. of the fraction by electrophoresis or gel-chromatography. The immunogammaglobulins are finally treated with healthy tissue to eliminate any antibodies against healthy tissue cells.
