Abstract

Stabilised, plasticised PVC compsn contains (I) a chlorinated plasticiser, (II) a primary stabiliser selected from Ba-Cd and Cd-Zn soaps, and (III) 1-15 pts wt per 100 pts wt PVC or a chlorinated aliphatic epoxy polyester as secondary stabiliser. Pref. the compsn contains 10-200 pts wt (I) 0.1-10 pts wt (II) per 100 pts wt PVC. (I) is esp. an allyl chloride oligomer or chlorinated paraffin and (III) the deglycidyl ether of polyepichlorohydrin. The combination of (II) and (III) has a synergistic stabilising action. The compsn is non-migrating and non-combustible.
