Abstract

Experimental laboratory, layer-chromatography is effected by (a) supplying a slow flow of the soln. of the mixture to be separated to the centre of a disc-shaped layer of adsorbent, the subsequent rate of low of eluent at this point corresponding to the capacity for drawing it away from the adsorbent and (b) after complete impregnation of the adsorbent, the removal of the components of the feed mixture, now separated from ech other in the form of rings, together with the adsorbent by means of circular cutters of different diameter.
