Abstract

The serum is obtd. by injecting an animal, pref. a horse, over 6-8 weeks with lymphocytary prepns obtd. by mixing >=5 pref. >10 strains of permanent lymphoblastoid cultures from human subjects and 10-20 days after the final injection, recovering the serum from the blood. The serum is useful in transplant, treatment of autoimmune diseases, certain neurological disorders and certain inflammations. In an example, human leucocytes were cultured conventionally and after the establishment of permanent lines, nine such lines were mixed, injected subcutaneously into a horse in six weekly injections of 5 x 109 rising to 3 x 1010 cells. The serum was recovered 10 days after the last injection.
