Abstract

A continuous support e.g. a warp of parallel yarns has a first layer of fibres of pref. one colour applied to it and line layer is lightly needled. A second layer of different coloured fibres are then applied to the first layer and the two layers are needled together to produce a relief surface and then second layer having discrete regions consisting of fibres of the first layer, fibres of the second layer, and pref. a mixture of fibres of the two layer.
