Abstract

Parent patent disclosed a system for storing and dispersing liquids or dusts using a rigid bottle with a removable base and refill sachets comprising heat sealed envelopes of plastic film; here, the system is extended to include use of refill sachets made of or lined with polyester film, with associated use of ultrasonic welding instead of hot shoe or hot jet welding previously used with other materials. Specif., sachets are made from tubular or folded films of polyethylene terephthalate, opt. externally coated with PVdC. Polyethylene terephthalate does not taint liquids (foodstuffs) by contact, can be incinerated after use without generating toxic or corrosive fumes, and is highly impermeable to gases, esp. if coated with PVdC.
