Abstract
Ethylenically unsatd. cpds. (esp. butene-1) are disproportionated using a WO3/Al2O3 catalyst activated at >590 degrees C (esp. at >760 degrees). Activation of the catalyst at the stated temp. gives improved disproportionation yield. Optimum disproportionation is achieved at temps. depending on the activation temp. of the catalyst.
