Abstract

Support bearing for a rotary furnace comprises a pair of bearing rullers mounted on separate frames resting upon the foundations through pneumatic cushions. A rod passes loosely through the centre of each frame and carries a pair of supports for limiting the mutual longitudinal displacements of the rod and frames and thereby ensuring that as the furnace rotates both bearing rollers are always pressed against the furnace banding along the whole line of their contact.
