Abstract

Flexible reinforced hose of a synthetic polymer pref. nylon is produced by contacting the surface of an internal polymer tube with a solvent, pref. resorcinol to dissolve only the external surface of the tube; withdrawing the tube and eliminating excess solvent from the surface; applying a reinforcing layer of synthetic thread pref. plaited or spirally wound nylon on the surface of the tube; and bonding the thread to the tube under such conditios that the applied solvent is present in the structure of the hose.
