Abstract
Title cpd. referred to as "YA56" of unknown chemical composn. but separable into 2 further cpds. "YA56-X" and "YA56-Y" and their salts and Cu-chelates are isolated from the fermentation broths of Streptomyces humidus var sp. MCRL 0387 and MCRL 0432 (NRRL 3885 and 3886) (the latter being a mutant of the former), as the Cu-chelate which is decomposed with H2S. YA56 is sepd. into its 2 components by chromatography over "Sephadex H-20" (after acid treatment) and elution with 0.2M NaCl. The cpds. are characterised by their solubilities, U.V. and I.R. spectra, reaction to certain agents and their Rf values in certain solvent systems.
