Abstract

Continuous graft polymsn of reactive liqs. onto macromolecular fibrous sheet materials by continuously and alternately passing the material through an impregnation zone contg the reactive liq. an irradiation zone and a washing zone, the impregnated material being exposed to radiation in a zone made air-light by the reactive liq and the washing soln contained respectively in the imagenation zone and the washing zone and filled with a ion oxidising inert gas and opt. reactive liq. vapours. Residual unreacted materials are removed in the washing zone.
