Abstract

The triturated grapes arrive at one end of the appts. and are carried along by two endless helical screws. Incurved sepg. plates are fitted at their lower portions and are fixed to a framework equipped with a vibrator. The plates consist of rectangular blades of a suitable thickness and their contour follows that of the envelopes of the endless screws. They have channels which widen from the inside to the convex outside of the plates; the vibratory displacement of the endless screws above the plates has a self-cleaning effect, because the channels remain free and better drainage from the grape residues results. The screw assembly rests on a series of springs which are fitted with stops to indicate the maximum permissible displacement when the vibrator is in operation.
