Abstract

The novel title cpd is produced by chlorinating benzoxazoles of formula: I(in which X is H, Br, Cl alkylmercapto or SO3H, Y is Cl and n is 0-3) pref. in the presence of chlorination catalyst e.g. Lewis acids or I2, at 60-200 degrees c. It is esp. useful for the control of acarids which are resistant to organophosphorus cpds.
