Abstract

Formation of an active electrode mass is carried out in one operation by spraying a soln. contg. a salt(s) of metal component(s) of the active mass onto a moving porous electrode skeleton, pref. in the form of a strip, and then spraying a soln. of a precipitating agent (e.g. ammonia) and the washing water. The water and reaction products are removed from the other side of the strip. Drying zones may be included between the spraying nozzles. By this method, active masses contg. Cd, Ni, Pb, Ag, etc., can be formed for accumulators or primary batteries.
