Abstract

A package consists of a stackable and partly interlocking base support for the articles which are enclosed in a transparent synthetic film, the interlocking bases fitting into each other consecutively at an angle of 90 degrees. The bases are conveniently of square section and have bearing projections along two edges with corresp recesses on the other two adjacent edges, so that they may be locked together by turning them alternately through 90 degrees. The upper faces of the base plates pref. have hollow recesses to receive the articles to be packed, and may be annular, oblique or cubic. The base may be of (expanded) polystyrene or wood particle board, and the film may be of polyethylene or regenerated cellulose. The packages are useful for storing small quantities of foodstuffs and for their convenient transport.
