Abstract

Ink for printing inscriptions on medicaments, esp. polished, sugar-coated pills, contains polyethylene glycol, polypropylene glycol, or an ethylene glycol/propylene glycol copolymer as additive. Additive pref. consists of a polyethylene glycol with a mol.wt. of 400. The amount of additive is 8-12% wt. The ink bonds well to the polished pills, and is resistant to friction. The ink can be printed rapidly and dries rapidly.
