Abstract

Propylene is (co)polymerised, at 80 degrees C., in presence of a three-component catalyst system comprising TiCl3 or TiCl3.1/3Al.Cl3; and a trialkyl-Al or dialkyl-cpd. (alkyls have 1-4C, halogen is Br or Cl); and a polyethylene glycoldialkyl ether or polyethylene thioglycol dialkylthioether (ether has 2-5 ethylene units, alkyls have 1-4C). No solvent is present. The product has high bulk density. No costs arising from solvent loss or recovery. Catalyst easily removed. Any atactic polymer present does not impair mech. or physical props. of the atactic polymer.
