Abstract

The fabric is layered into baskets which are then placed inside the treatment vessel where the treatment liquor is caused to flow through the layers. The liquor flow direction is selected to oppose the normal buoyancy of the fabric thus ensuring that the layers are not too tightly packed together to allow easy distribution of the liquor. Perforated plates are used to control the evenness of liquor flow across the vessel. After treatment is completed liquor is removed by draining and hot air circulation. No further treatment is required to prepare the fabric for making up.
