Water of high purity, is obtained for use e.g. in the electronics industry is prepd. using a anion exchanger (pref. macroporous) contg. water-insoluble metal sulphides. Pref. copper sulphide is used, or if simultaneous sterilisation is required, mercury or silver sulphide is used.
