Abstract

As in DT 2055653, heat exchanger are fabricated by moving reels of tube vertically and, at the same time, circumferentially round a vertically held stationary core. The reels are held on a circular track connected to a horizontal platform that is moved up or down by hydraulic or other means. The rotary motion is kept constant and the vertical motion is controlled by means of a feeler that follows a previously formed template. The vertical motion of the reel carriers is coordinated with that of the platform by limit switches on the slides carrying the reel carriers. These, and an electronic circuit, balance the movement to give the desired form to the winding.
