Abstract

Title cpd. is pred. by treating 1-pyrrolidinocarbonylmethylpiperazine with 2-chloroethyl 3,4,5-trimethoxybenzoate. The LD50 i.v. in mice is 258 mg/kg; 15mg/kg i.v. in cats lowered the arterial blood pressure by 50% the pressure returning to normal in15 to 30 mins. the hypertensive effect of adrenaline, and the heart beat were both reduced. Clinical doses are 25 to 400 mg orally to 5 times daily; 10 to 250 mg. parenterally 1 to 3 times daily. Title cpds. also has bradycardiac effect.
