Abstract

Androgenic and myotropic 3-keto-17-(bicyclo 2,2,2 octane-1'-methoxy carbonyloxy) steroids Novel compounds of the formula: (where R1, R2, R3, R4 and R5 are H or CH3 and a, b and c = single or double bond. If R3 is H, b must be a single bond. If b is a single bond and R' is CH3 and the configuration of R1 is alpha. If one of the subst. R1, R2 and R4 is CH3 the others must be H. If R2 = CH3 b is a double bond) have androgenic and myotropic activity, are prepared either by reacting the 17-haloformate with the corresponding bicyclo 2,2,2 octane-1-methanol or by reacting the 17-alcohol with the corresponding bicyclo 2,2,2 octane-1-methyl haloformate.
