Abstract

Electric circuit is commutated by using jets from an explosive lance to cut the conductor, pref. using particles of an electrically insulating material to both cut the component and to bridge the break(s). Pref. components cut and insulated with particles of milled silica or alumina, of polyethylene, PTFE, polystyrene or glass. Used for mfr. of high power spark generators or other devices with localised high resistances in the circuits.
